Lead by Sun and other members of the Federation, the school hosted a grand ceremony to warmly welcome Qiu and his entourage. Then, the two parties had a nice meeting. Sun indicated that as the Chinese language was thriving in Cambodia, and the number of students was increasing , there were problems for the school development, such as tight budgets, sub-standard housing for volunteer teachers from the Overseas Chinese Office and low payment to local teachers as well as loss of teaching staff, etc.  After learning these situations, the Fujian Chamber of Commerce and the Prince provided great support to the Pei Ying Public School, as they strongly believe that the school will become better and better.

Lord Zheng said: "Promoting Chinese education is the main task of the Federation of Khmer Chinese in Cambodia. The improvement of school environment, teaching quality, and the cultivation of teachers will be highly supported, so that the students trained in Chinese schools can become useful talents in our country and our society. Here, I would like to express my sincere thanks to the Fujian General Chamber of Commerce and the Prince Real Estate Group for their great back-up in the establishment of the school and the training of teachers. I believe that with the joint efforts of us all, more and more excellent bilingual talents will certainly be trained in Cambodian Chinese schools. "

The Pei Ying Public School is located in the west bank of the Mekong River, 40 kilometers from Phnom Penh. It was funded by the the Federation of Khmer Chinese in Cambodia in 1997 and has more than 650 students currently as reported. The existing facilities in the school is primitive. There is only one teaching building, and teachers' dormitory room is less than seven square meters with tile roof. When it rains, the whole room can be flooded. School conditions are rather austere. Upon learning of the situation, Chairman Qiu immediately decided to donate US $15,000 to the school for the construction of a teachers' dormitory building. The  two-story teachers' dormitory building planned to be finished by end of this year will be around 200 square meters with a total cost of $60, 000. After completion, the ground floor will be used as a children's playground, while the second floor is served as teachers' dormitory rooms.

Chairman Qiu said at the ceremony that we are duty-bound to contribute to the development of Chinese language education in Cambodia. I hope that Chinese language education will be carried forward in Cambodia with the care and support of people of all walks of life. I also hope that students can realize their dreams with actions and become useful talents, as well as emissaries who bridge the friendship between China and Cambodia.

A river is gathered by trickles of flows, same as to  a fortress formed by united strength. Similarly, although there is still a long way to go for the development of Chinese education, as more people participate in promoting Chinese culture,  Sino-Cambodian friendship will be co-developed.
